Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs ( Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs ) is an animated film of 2009, directed by Carlos Saldanha and written by Michael Berg and Peter Ackerman .

is the third installment of a series that began in 2002 with Ice Age and continued in 2006 with Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown , both films have involved Saldanha as a director.

The film opened in U.S. cinemas on July 1 2009, while in Italian cinemas will be released on August 28 2009. While on Ischia (Na) during the Ischia Global Film Festival was released in the week between 12 and 19 July is proving very popular among children than among adults.

Plot

Manny and Ellie are expecting their first child, and the mighty mammoth is in stock jujube. He does not realize, then, the embarrassment of melancholy Diego and Sid decide to leave, unable to share the reality of the family.

The AIS, in his wanderings, he falls into an underground cave in which he finds three eggs that, in a fit of jealousy masked by paternal affection, he decides to adopt. But then, turn out to be dinosaur eggs tyrannosaurus in any way abandoned by his mother, who, rising to the surface, the claim. Therefore reflects, in its underworld three babies and also Sid, who prefer the small to the mother.

The underground cave turns out to be a hidden world where dinosaurs are known saved from extinction Cretaceous. Manny and Ellie pregnant, Diego and the two went in opossum decided to save Sid.

After the huge success of Ice Age 2: The Meltdown , production, in agreement with director Carlos Saldanha had decided to create an additional third chapter, so for create a trilogy . The writers Michael Berg and Peter Ackerman , were appointed to prepare a draft that would focus on dinosaurs. The film was released in America on July 1 2009 and worldwide from August onwards (including in digital format 3D).

Promotion

The first teaser trailer for the film came out premiere in theaters on January 19 2009. On January 5, 2009, was announced the presence of a short film that should anticipate the release of film. The short is titled Surviving Sid and starring the likeable sloth Sid, with a cameo of Scrat. Here we see Sid trying to train a group of puppies in "camp", with tragicomic results.

In November 2008 of was released trailer of the movie where you see Scrat, in a vast expanse of snow trying to get his acorn, but to 'the wind suddenly stops and he falls formed in the crater beneath him to find himself on the tail of a dinosaur.

Citations

  • In the theatrical trailer, we see a scene where the protagonists are located in front of the tyrannosaurus and Manfred exclaims: "No one move a muscle." Quote from a similar scene in Jurassic Park III in which Dr. Alan Grant is in front of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
